The people of God waited for hundreds of years for a champion who would free them from oppression and tyranny of their earthly captors; a king, a noble, a warrior who would fight on their behalf and set everything right. But God, their loving creator and Lord, did not give them the King they wanted, instead he graciously gave them the only King they needed. Jesus, who is the Christ, was meek and lowly, a servant king who came not to ascend an earthly throne but instead to die on a cross. Join us starting this Sunday as we discover together the true and greater king, champion, and warrior; the one who did not simply win for us temporary prosperity, but instead eternal joy, peace and hope.
