The life, death, and resurrection of Jesus is not simply the story of salvation for individuals but the climax of a grand story of redemption that includes the birth of a new people. That new people, the children of God, the body of Christ, those tasked with seeing the Kingdom of God expand we call “the Church.” In our day and age, “the Church” is often viewed as a building, an event, a people who adhere to certain rules, or an institution out of step with today’s culture. But scripture shows us that “the church” is a gift given to us and the world by God through which the grace, mercy, and love of Christ flows. Join us this August, as we walk through the story of the church spending specific time discovering the purpose, the people, and the power.
