Thousands of years ago as Christians in Rome struggled with persecution and trial John Mark, a disciple of Jesus and a personal aid to Peter, wrote an account of the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. This account, this life changing news, this Gospel, served to give confidence to Christians then and for millions of Christians after that Jesus of Nazareth really was the messiah promised by God who came not to ascend an earthly throne for his own power and might but instead to serve, suffer, and die in order to rescue and redeem those whom he loved. The gospel of Mark is centered on answering a single question Jesus himself posed to His disciples: "Who do you say that I am?" At Mercy's Door, we are spending the next several months as a church seeking to answer that question, anticipating that as we come to know Jesus better, we will find hope, rest, joy, and life in Him all the more. Join us as we cast our eyes on Christ, the author and perfecter of our faith.
