The Hunt Begins!

The story of Easter is as amazing as it is needed. The God of the universe came down from Heaven to Earth in order to rescue the world He loved so much. But when He came, he did not come as an earthly king with riches and splendor but instead He came as a lowly man in the midst of a lowly people. He lived a life not of comfort and ease, but of service and sacrifice. The culmination of the life of Jesus (God in human flesh) occurred in what we call “Holy Week” in Jerusalem as the rest of the nation of Israel gathered to celebrate the passover. This week would be the greatest week in human history with a gift we could never earn and a victory that came from what seemed like utter defeat. Join us on this scavenger hunt with your families as we walk through the incredible story of Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection.

HOW TO USE THE SCAVENGER HUNT MAP

All of the pictures below are scattered throughout Mascoutah. They can be found on signs in the front of houses. The map you find here helps to point you in the right direction as you search for the pictures. The sign with the picture on it could be on any street located in the highlighted area of town. You’ll have to do some driving and some careful looking to find them! The scavenger hunt is designed for you to be able to stay in your vehicles with your families and share together in the powerful story of Easter. Try and find each picture in order and after you find a picture stop to click on the picture below and read about the picture and that part of the story of Easter. Some areas have more than one picture in it and are noted on the map. Please drive slowly, stop whenever you are reading part of the story, and observe the rules of the road while you “search” your way through the Easter story together!
